[edit]The most recent change reads as if there were half a million residents in the 10th century. I doubt if that's correct, but could someone help me to be sure? RickK 23:18, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Gharnati
[edit]@R Prazeres Hi,
As I said, my addition are sourced and cannot be considered as POV and you cannot just revert without providing a source that says otherwise. In addition, the information added are quite the same from those already mentioned in the article Gharnati. It's an historical reality that the Gharnati is originating from Tlemcen before being spread to Morocco in the last century by Algerian families. In a paragraph specific to Gharnati it's not possible to not mention those information.
@Mr Bitton Please join the discussion if you are interested in the subject. Descartes16 (talk) 10:22, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- I've revised again ([1]) per what the sources cited actually say. All the other details you've added are either irrelevant (it's not known as "Sana'" in Morocco) or unsupported by the sources you cited (while the Tilimsani families moving to Oujda seems likely, none of the sources you cited actually state this). The previous text from my edit ([2]) already clearly indicated its base was in Tlemcen before Morocco — even though all the other sources you added ([3], [4], [5]) actually don't specify Tlemcen narrowly, interestingly — so this complaint is all the more undue, since the main point you seem concerned about is already present.
- In sum: you're dumping details that repeat emphasis on Tlemcen multiple times, despite this being an article about Oujda, while the sources cited support none of the specific details you're inserting. If you cannot agree with the current text, then per WP:STATUSQUO we will revert to the older version before either of our edits until there's a consensus otherwise, though that would be a shame in my opinion.
